Black and White Color Adapter

I heard someone made a youtube video of a black and white tv using an early motorized adapter color wheel to make it color.. I would like to see it if anyone knows the links to this.. I've never seen anything like it...

I haven't seen the youtube video but I have seen color wheels in action. Here is a link to the 2007 ETF convention which had a lot of color wheel action going on.

Old friend of mine (now deceased) built this example back in the late '50s. After his passing his daughter donated it to the Museum and they got it working again..

There are two Youtube videos of a color wheel set, but they are of the Col-R-Tel commercially built unit and not the Colordaptor pictured in old coot88's post.

The Color and video of the wheel set in operation in these videos is not representative of what you will see looking at these sets in person. The ones at the ETF Museum look very good.

Capturing the wheel image and getting good color balance is very difficult with a hand held camcorder.

The Colordaptor at ETF is in good working order and makes nice color images
even though it is over 55 years old.

I hope you can come see it during the ETF Convention May 4-6.

My avatar image is a Col-R-Tel I got in 1960 and finally restored in 2007.

Regards,

Cliff
