NRI Radio Merchandising pamphlet
 

A friend gave me a whole stack of NRI (National Radio Institute) pamphlets from the late 1947. Really though the content is pre-war. Lots of interesting pre-war TV stuff I'll scan when I get a chance. First though, I've scanned a few pages from the Radio Merchandising pamphlet. Sorry for the grainy images - that's how that are in the pamphlet.

If these have already been scanned and archived, please let me know before I waste a lot of effort :yes:

Thanks Bob for the reminder of how serious radio used to be. I attended the descendant of Capital Radio Engineering Institute, also in DC. CREI trained Navy guys beginning in 1927. Now its all I.T. and Telecommunications Management.

I believe the other thread was a testament to your commitment to rendering first aid to sick radio tubes.

Was this last picture your inspiration? I am surprised nobody thought of doing that!

Yes, these pamphlets take radios very seriously. There's one on how to do radio shop bookkeeping - $1/hr for labor! Another on how to be a good salesman.

I hope the whole series has been scanned and archived somewhere, but I couldn't find them anywhere.

LOL No, I didn't see that picture until a few days after I fixed those tubes. I'd reattached a few tube and CRT bases that had come really loose before. What hadn't occurred to me was that tight tube bases with what appeared to be well soldered pins could be a problem.
