CTC 10 & 11 up and running
 

Here is a shot of both my 21" roundies running. Cataract is on the 11 but both CRT's are good and strong. Nice scan lines and good convergence. Thanks again Kevin Kuehn I really enjoy them both.

My CTC 11 is in the same or very similar cabinet as your CTC10, the Early American Style I guess it's called.

Nice sets. The tube with the cataract looks very strong so if you ever get around to "cataract surgery" it should come out great looking.

When I started in a Tv shop back in 1971 I learned the best time to sell Tv's was Saturday morning. The cartoons sold the sets for me. I adjusted them for nice brilliant color. And to think I was only 13 at the time. The shop was Bob's Tv & Appliance. We handled Sylvania and later GE too. Yes that is me in 1977 on the sales floor and service bench. I remember I was working on a GE 19" EC chassis. Yes the one with the rivets in the power supply. EC extra crappy.

The CTC 10 was the first model year of the Early American Cabinet too.

I worked in a TV shop for a summer back in the early 70's like that. It was great fun.

Tom, Your sets look great. I always thought CTC11's were 21FBP22 only.

The grandeur of those extra-big early american cabinets add total kid-appeal. I feels like an 8 year old again looking at those!

The set on the right is identical to my CTC-10C Model and cabinet name, unknown. Mine has an FBP kine in it, but I'd love to find a CYP and the clip, spring, and resistor for the 2nd anode connector!

The color on mine has always looked somewhat cool-ish. Probably because I've never made the changes for the FBP swap.

Your sets both look great. The Flintstones is a great show for a roundie.

Thanks for all the great replys guys. I just grew up with the knack of working on these types of sets. I have a great respect for sets like this. My folks first color set was in 1963 and it was a Curtis Mathis 21" roundie. Don't have pics of it but I found brocheres of it on Ebay. I'll post one later. I never had any real formal training in the electronics field but I learned by reading books, working on sets like these and I hung around every shop in my town and learned from the best techs ever. I think it was 9 shops in my area. Every one had a story and always great info. They all took me under the wing and taught me something. Almost all are gone now but never forgotten by me. If anyone has questions on most of these types of sets feel free and I'll be glad to help you if I can.

The first real training I got was by taking the RCA color TV course. I'm there with you, Tom S!
