Sonora. Made in Chicago. Maybe prewar, altho looks more postwar. Co. went out of business in '57. Prolly typical AA5 design, and as such, they were no better or worse than the blue zillion OTHER AA5 designs. Likely will work dandily w/new capacitors, possibly a tube or 2.

Add: The earliest Photofact that I have that shows a Sonora (folder 5-31 dated 10/46) looks more modern, but is a fairly typical AA5 and indeed only has only one trimmer on the second IF can (but on the output winding, feeding the 12SQ7)... Likely this schematic (model RBU176) is similar to what you have:

Most Sonoras used a 2nd IF transformer, that only had a single trimmer that tuned the primary winding. Also, it has no can around it.
Outside of that, it has conventional circuitry.

Thanks so much, all of you! It turns out that it was a Sonora 171/172. Jr_tech, where did you get that schematic? It is unlike the one I have.
