Way out of my price range, but would love to have one.
I'm not sure if I cut and pasted this the right way or not. If I'm wrong, please straighten me out.

Yeah, the guy's a LITTLE "Pricey" on it, w/all the described flaws...Natalies have always left me kinda "Meh..." They take up a lot of real estate, they're nothing special electronically, & they SCREAM "Fifties !"...Now, that Zenith Claridge Porthole, OTOH...(grin) But some people like Fords, others, Chevys..And some are Mopar people. But I think he'd have a LOT easier time selling ol' Nat if he started her out at HALF that-Or less.

Nice TV, but too much $$$ IMO.

The Nat I restored some years ago had a Muntz-quality chassis in it; kind of a 'just enough components to work' design. Terrible and cheap! Great cabinets though.

What brand TV and radio are those?

Natalie may have been a bitch, but she got her way. She is the reason Technicolor looked the way it did from the 1930's until 1948 or so.

I've only seen one Natalie Kalmus TV in my life, and it is still sitting in an old rumpus room in the basement of a friends parents home.

When the Wizard of Oz was in production the producers hated her iron fistedness since she tended to mute pretty bright colors down to the point where they were uninteresting and minimized the difference between the sepia beginning of the film and the OZ color sequences.

So the producers got Technicolor to ship her off to England to work on another
film over there and the colorful Oz we can see today is the result.

This summer, I bought a Kalmus set from a local collector. Came with all of the original paperwork including the schematic. I'm not sure if all of these sets used the same chassis but this set uses a chassis manufactured by Franklin (model 317 I think). Dates to 1953. Very Muntz-like as a previous posting notes - less than 20 caps in the entire chassis.

My dad's cousin bought a Kalmus set new in 1954. Attached is a pic that I recently got from the family - from October 1957. The set is long gone! My set has the same cabinet.

Nice Gary. Love the podium also. I think I actually remember that place along with the Curtis and Leamington.

I see cool Homer Etro has relisted the darn thing. Same price as before.
