very early VT-71
OK Baby Moto lovers. There is on our "favorite" auction sight what looks like a very early VT-71. From what I can see, it is the one with the 7F8 mixer oscillator tube.
It also appears to have the 6KV big cans above and below chassis! What a critter for someone here to tackle! |
Serial #2932. Ha! I still have it beat at 2425, but it's cool to see another with this early design :)

Bob does your set use a 6S8 ?
|
Nope - 6SQ7. You can read more about it here: http://www.videokarma.org/showthread.php?p=3008959

Man, that is nice. I sure wish I'd go into an attic and find a cool tv someday. That thing looks like it hasn't been touched in decades.
EDIT: It's also been sold, for $199.00 Anyone here get it? |
I wonder if those are really the originals knobs ? They look like they came from a blonde set.

No, I am not going to bid on it! |
I thought somebody was still making repro screen gaskets...?
|
No, not anymore. He said they were too much of a hassle to produce.

Terrific . . . .
Oh well, at least there's still Photoshop http://tvontheporch.com/images/vt-71_pix_250x157.jpg |
