Horizontal Size
 

On my Samsung in the sig, is there a way to adjust the horizontal size of the picture? I can adjust vertical but not horizontal it seems. It's a 20k20 chassis.

There's basically too much overscan.

Even as far back as the late tube era you were lucky if a set maker had a jumper and two terminals one for normal and one for boosted width...many makers did not have any provision for width adjustment at all.

Probably not. Usually if you have a sudden width problem
on a basic set like yours its the regulator IC (STR30125, STR30130 etc) but it
will also have bending & may shut down. I will see if I have a Sams
later & double check.
BTW the less a set costs the more likely it will overscan NORMALY.

Usually you need an inductor, not a resistor, to reduce H width. Another caution - transistorized sets may have unusually long retrace time, which allows use of a lower-voltage horizontal output transistor. In this case there really isn't a lot of overscan, it's just that the trace is faster than normal and expands the picture horizontally.
