Grundig satelit 6001

I bought a grundig satelit 6001 for 50 dollars

It is in ok shape

It needs tuner bulbs and a knob replaced or repaired

It has a radioshack wall wart powering it

I think it is missing a ssb adaptor

It powers up and seems to work

I rent a room right now but soon i will have a place to take it apart and work on it

Did i do ok ?

I'd say you did very well. The original Satellit series of radios are generally excellent performers. I own examples of the first (Satellit 205, aka "Transistor 5000") and last (Satellit 700) models from the original series, and they're great radios. Your Transistor 6001 was better known in Germany as the Satellit 210, and is still highly regarded.

As far as the lamps go, they're probably still good. Dunno about the 6001, but with my 5000, pressing the volume thumbwheel down turns on the dial lamp(s) for the selected band. The 210 apparently has a switch which turns the lamps on permanently, but I dunno where it is. The power supply used by the 5000 (maybe also the 6001) is the TN-12, which you might be able to find on eBay. The SSB adaptor isn't common these days; a friend of mine used to work on these things, and came across few Satellits which had them installed. Have fun!
