Has anyone ever seen this set?
Is there such a set? I've never seen a set like this nor a remote to have all these functions including brightness, fine tuning and a separate on/off and volume not to mention a channel up/down.. Defiantly some weird edits in this video.. Notice when the set is turned off, the tube is completely black.. Fine tuning makes it blurry, like it's out of focus..

saw this same set sans a different cabinet in the early 70s.really good operator.crt was exceptional and all functions worked properly.the issue was the tuner itself.worn out.martin at united tuner did a great job on the tuner and we got it up and running again.really fine, expensive set

Looks like it was a more expensive set.. I've never seen anything like this one or any pictures that's close to the cabinet style... I assume this is a CTC-9 - 11

I saw one of those on eBay several years ago. I was in excellent condition,
except someone cut the legs off real short. |
Top of my TV wish list

That's the late production RCA CTC-7 "Worthington" all electronic tuning both @ the set and on the remote. A collector friend has one in his collection.

Must be one of the rarest sets..

The one on eBay with the leg controversy, was the one my friend listed.
I can't remember if it went to an out of country collector or not. I looked at the set before he listed, and after the questions came up about it. Ya... it looked more like a "lowboy" but there were NO signs of cut marks on the legs. If the original owner did shorten it for any reason, it sure looked like a factory job. |
I like that narrator for that early commercial with a Boston accent!
