1979 Panasonic TR-201C B&W TV
Picked up this Panasonic TR-201C B&W TV at an estate sale today.
Works perfect and the case is in near mint condition too. Afrer a quick polish and clean, looks like new ! It's made in Korea. I'm surprised back then Panasonic made TV's in Korea. I guess to save cost, the black and whites were made there ? some pics http://s23.postimg.org/nptsz9u97/DSCF0604.jpg http://s23.postimg.org/etj0vc3mz/DSCF0594.jpg http://s23.postimg.org/51gcposq3/DSCF0595.jpg http://s23.postimg.org/f50h83k2z/DSCF0596.jpg http://s23.postimg.org/aocpn5v8r/DSCF0597.jpg http://s23.postimg.org/moy5nw2nf/DSCF0598.jpg http://s23.postimg.org/gt480hncb/DSCF0599.jpg http://s23.postimg.org/t6h27ed0r/DSCF0600.jpg http://s23.postimg.org/42zznefe3/DSCF0601.jpg |

I found one just like that or very similar not too long ago, it had a bad CRT and was in such rotten cosmetic shape I wound up giving it back to the thrift store.

Those were a workhorse chassis. We had a diner across the street from the shop that had one of those in the kitchen - greasy cabinet, stayed on one channel all the time, and the only repair in about 8 years was a corroded horizontal oscillator coil winding . One drop of solder to fix it, and she plugged on until the diner changed hands in 2004. Almost 25 years of use in a not-so-friendly environment, and it performed solidly.
I'm assuming the "C" suffix = Canada? Cheers, |

Underweighter's Laboratory they certify the safety of consumer goods.
I think I've driven past their Illinois location before. Perhaps the funniest thing about them is that they put their approval stamp on some hot chassis tube radios. |

Probably the best 12" B&W of its era. Always a pleasure to
work on & ran nice when done. There is a list of T125 chassii listed in Sams so no problem if ever needed. Only thing I remember were shorted rectifires anyhows......... 73 Zeno:smoke: |
