1956 Motorola 56R Plastic radio
Picked up a 1956 Motorola 56R Plastic radio.
Works good but I think the controls need some cleaning. No chips or cracks on the cabinet. Could use a good cleaning and cabinet polish. Here's some pics and a video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yv6P7...ature=youtu.be https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3847/...2847278f_b.jpg https://farm3.staticflickr.com/2911/...4c58a6e0_b.jpg |
Kewl ! Yeah, a judicious "De-Oxit Bath" might be in order...Works pretty good, though.

I actually found DeOxit locally, thought I would have to order it.

There were not enough black radios in the mid 50s, that looks very sharp.
I wonder if that wasn't recapped, it sounds great and you actually have AM stations that play M U S I C rather than end-end jibber-jabber. |
Wow. I had that SAME radio when I was a kid. Bought it for a dime at a garage sale, and played it for a whole summer.
I HAVE to get me one of those again :) |
