RCA CTC9 Corinthian
Have you seen? Maybe one of us can be interested?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1961-RCA-New...torefresh=true :tresbon: |
:) Then, if you will see a CTC7 Worthington... Please let me know!!!
|
Haha, just saw this on ebay and posted it in the classifieds. 1961 would make it a CTC11 from what I know... but the bezel on the front doesn't look CTC11. The tuner looks like my CTC10.
|
The cabinet is identical (but with different trim and finish) to my CTC10 Wynnwood.
Ed Reitans site identifies it as a CTC9. |
I am pretty sure that is the exact model that was in the white house oval
office, installed by Eisenhour and was there thru Johnson. It can be seen in a few photos of Kennedy in the office. |

Maybe the model is another type. The seller doesn't write the model, so I've seen it on a RCA ad.
However, it is a right TV set for a president! :) |
This is a CTC-10 Wynnewood. They came in mahogany, ebony, and walnut finishes according to Ed Reitan's website. At this past ETF convention I sold a CTC-10 Wynnewood that looked identical to this. It may in fact be that set...
|
Certainly the eBay listing misidentifies the set as a New Vista CTC11. The RCA-developed nuvistor (6CW4) appeared first in 1961 RCA color sets with the 'New Vista' logo clearly present within the 'COLOR' diffraction-grating plaque.
|
The seller emailed me that it's a model 211CDR936 on the sets back cover. My RCA field service manual says it should have CTC-10E chassis. However they don't call out name for that model number.
|
And the picture for a CTC-10 Series shown on page 42 of the same manual is identified as a "Wynnewood" ... looks like the ebony version... Very cool set!

WOW!! Kinda pricey even though it is a rare cabinet style.
