Rca ctc-108

Okay, another question everyone.

I have a 1982 RCA CTC-108.

The picture is good, sound is good. I have a minor issue with the color though. Everything has a slight brownish look to it. I can't really place what seems to be missing from the scenes.

Any suggestions? I can tell you that ALL of the controls have been messed with (my bad). My guess is that one of the back side pots needs to be adjusted, but I am not sure which one to focus my attention on.

Thank you!!

Not by the book but...
Warm set up 1 hr.
Turn down color, should be perfect B&W.
If not tweak the R, G, or B bias to get best B&W you can.
At this age it may be the CRT. Reds can take on a "muddy"
brown look. Try that. If not screen shots with no color &
normal color may tell the story.

if i remember correctly, that set didnt produce all that good of a picture anyway.some of those rcas had a terrible crt.my mother bought one from k mart.worst picture on a new set i had seen since the moto days.i think the sylvania crt from that era was a direct replacement.we did a swap and it worked out well

Thanks folks. It'll be a bit before i can take any photos as it is in the garage, currently supporting the Sharp 19" I got two weeks ago.

I've always held an affinity for the XL100s. I remember seeing some of this model TV in motels around the north east.

Yeah, those are cool. I'm glad I found a nice one to replace the basket case I threw out some time ago. Come to think of it I had two basket case XL-100s, one being a console I had for less than a day.

So this one is a console huh? I just assumed that it is a table set until you mentioned that another set was on top of it. I'm sure that motel rooms wouldn't have had consoles.

No, it is a table model. By "supporting" I mean that the Sharp is on top of it right now. Who knows, maybe they'll "Make a SharpRCA" between them??

As long as the RCA and Sharp aren't having too much fun together, I may be able to bring the XL100 into the basement this week. May be even be my Thanksgiving day "thing to do".
