My daughter,the dumbass
My 9 yr old girl recapped a 9tube Australian radio, replaced the rubber wires with plastic, new power cord, couldn't get it to work,i had a look, told her they work better if you plug them into the electricity outlet, anybody make mistakes like that.Turned it on,tuned into some muslim channel, made me think the Taliban had arrived.

Great job for someone who is only nine.
Congrats to her. |
I remember putting on a new cord on my moms cloths iron back when I was in 2nd grade, and taking the iron to show and tell and showed the class what I did, and the teacher didn't believe me and called my folks to see if it was true, and yes, It was true. Also later in grade school my dad got a hold of a old Motorola table model TV that didn't work, and my Dad and I took it apart and replaced several tubes, etc, but never did get it to work. Today I know what was wrong as it had a trapezoid raster, which obviously was a bad deflection yoke. I toyed around with it for hours trying to get it to work, but it was neat anyway, getting some light on the screen and listening to the sound.

Yes, I've forgotten to plug things in and wondered why it didn't work. OTOH, I've forgotten to unplug things while working on them and gotten the crap knocked out of me.

dating
It is going to be tough for the boy that wants to date your daughter.
|
Especially since she's (probably) imaginary.
|
My 9 year old daughter isn't imaginary. However I cannot imagine her recapping a radio receiver !!

When I was a kid, well maybe 14 or so.. I Took the back of the Tv off (1969 ish 19" color zenith) and rotated the yoke so the picture on the TV was upside down.... Didn't take Mom too long to find the culprit...
