Interesting article on DC Restoration
Came across this while looking at other things... I never really understood how DC restoration works, but have an electrical engineering background... this link may help if you're in the same boat, scroll to page 85.

The website I found the article on is absolutely awesome - it's like having the university technical periodical archives right on my desktop. When I was a student and had enough of studying I would take a break by grabbing a year of whatever periodical and reading the interesting articles. I like how this opportunity is now open to everyone, not just people with access to a good library.
