Putting my '34 airline back together after setting on the shelf for several years and I have lost the dial needle. It's no longer in my small parts box. I vaguely remember moving it somewhere where it wouldn't get damaged and now it is incognito. Frustrating.

The pointer is really thin and easily damaged or lost. As soon as you reassemble the radio, you'll find it. :sigh:
BTW, the set is a little later than 1934, Probably mid-1935, as it uses some metal tubes.
I have the same set and the schematic shows all UX base tubes. Mine has the metal tubes, as well. I always considered the styling rather repulsive. It still was a great buy for $27.95. Built by Wells-Gardner.

Been searching ebay or thinking of fabricating one. I may just find some clock hands that can be modified. Surely someone out there has to have one.

The clock hand idea is a real plan. Two minute hands placed 180 degrees apart. It would be hard, to tell the difference. :thmbsp:

Been there, done that, got the T-Shirt...And WHY does the little spring NEVER want to co-operate when you're trying to put it back in its place, but INSISTS on launching itself across the room ?!?

Well, clock hands don't look too bad. Soldered them together. Hole was even the correct size.

I'd say they worked perfectly!
