boost diode

hi all, i have a dumb question, which is the positive end of an rca boost diode , the gold or silver?

It's replaceable with an ECG119 in which if there is a + sign on it, that is the cathode (positive side) which goes to the screen controls, etc, which is usually usually around 800 to 1,000 volts. I would assume the gold band is the cathode, but not sure myself. Also the RCA number is 113391. If there is a band around it at one end, that for sure is the cathode side which provides positive voltage. It's just a selenium HV diode, and I believe if you put it in backwards, you won't hurt anything, you just won't get the 800+ plus volts and the screen controls will have little effect. In such a case just reverse it.
