Value Needed: Modifying A Daewoo CN-001M
Not too long ago, I acquired this set without a remote. While it works well, it needs a few service menu adjustments. Using a Philips universal remote (from 2007), I can access everything except for the number pad & channel changing functions (CH+ & CH- can still navigate menus). Because of this, I'll need to modify the control panel on the chassis in order to press "1" for the service menu entry. Each function requires a different resistance between a pushbutton and "KEY-IN" and are as follows:
"POWER" = direct connection "VOL +" = 4.7K "VOL -" = 7.1K "CH +" = 11K "CH -" = 18.5K "MENU" = 42.5K What resistance value will create number pad 1? |

Since its a Daewoo universal odds are it will run everything. You will need a code sheet unless it loses memory on battery removal. Then usually it reverts to Daewoo BUT there may be more than one code. Zenith also sold some Daewoo sets so try Zenith codes. IIRC other sets with resistor ladders and keypads had more than one input to the micro so a resistor may not work. Also the remote comes in on another pin so the software may only see it from the remote. good luck 73 Zeno:smoke: |
Thanks for the reply!

I've recently tried out a GE (Jasco) V1 universal remote. Its' Daewoo functionality appears to be exactly the same as the Philips PM3S universal remote that was tested prior. On the bright side, the V1 does have additional codes & device compatibility that the PM3S doesn't have.
