Anyone recognize this radio from a TV combo?
I was wondering if anyone recognized the model and brand of TV that would have had this. It came from a mid 60s TV the best I remember. I got this from a old TV that was not worth fixing and had a bad cabinet back in the 80s. It was the best playing little radio. It was just below the tuner and this is the faceplate from that area. IT is missing the middle knob as it has 3 controls. It has a issue so I want to fix that then make a cabinet for it. I would like to find out what sams it may have been in so I can look through my sams for it. Anyone have an idea to what it was in?

Thats a poser !
Looks like it came from a hotel set. Chassis pictures & pictures of the connectors may shed some lite on it. It looks like Zenith styling, if so the radio was prob built by Gold Star. No matter what you would need an OEM manual, Sams didnt cover institutional sets. 73 Zeno:smoke: |
It was in a full size wooden cabinet with legs, at least a 20 inch but probably a 25 inch TV. I have a picture of the back but its a little dusty. Here it is.

I was thinking the font looked 70's RCA.

Yup....RCA.

Thanks folks. I will write that down and put it with the radio. It plays really nice. I tried it today and it worked great. I had tried to use it a while back and it wouldn't play. I may go and do a recap on it,at least the power supply.

Radio Chassis from RCA Mural TV
I recall staying in a motor lodge in the 1960's with a console wood cabinet color set. Problem was the roof leaked in that room, and the manager moved us to a different room with a wall mounted color set. I was soooo disappointed. :tears:

I remember being in a few motels around 71 when I was a kid. We were moving from Tuscon AZ to Middle TN. I don't remember any big TVs in the rooms, just small ones. We probably were in 4 different hotels then coming across the country. The next time I was in one was when I got married in 88. From then on the ones I have seen have been the smaller wall mounted or tabletops. Its a neat little radio and plays great. Its a shame the TV was not worth fixing at that time. But then again I wouldn't have the radio today.

There were a few hotel sets with full cases. I recall the RCA CTC-38 as having one. And there was a consolette version that RCA made in that era.
