storage of a tv question

How long can a tv be stored in a spare room, and not be used? Any tips on storing a tv for a long period of time ? Thanks for any info.

Depends on the era of the set, but if it is working it is a good idea to give it an hour or two of run time every month or three to keep the electrolytic caps in shape...

Also, keep it warm, clean, and dry... wouldn't be a terrible idea to put a sheet or blanket over it to prevent the insides from collecting dust.

As Electronic M says run it once in a while. Other than
that room temp & will probably run 100yrs from now.

In fact, should be stored in a place where the temperature must be controlled. To operate an electrical device in a damp location is never recommended. operating the TV at least 1 or 2 times a month is in my opinion a good idea. Zeno is right.. No extreme = long life...;)
