cosmetic rebuilding of old caps andresistors

There is a sticky thread here on restuffing of electrolytics.

What I need are similar pieces on restuffing 1930's paper caps
with axial Mylar ones and on how to manufacture lookalike
"BED" type painted resistors.

Such articles exist, and I've read them ... but now that I need
to do it, I can't find them again.

Help!

Dogbones here: http://www.radiomuseum.org/forum/rep...resistors.html

As far as the paper caps go, search Bandersen's youtube channel for restuffing. https://www.youtube.com/user/banders...ery=restuffing

Full disclosure: I'm still in the process of making some dogbones of my own, but I'm having issues with the epoxy molds going soft, or my mold release not working right. (Tried a few different things. Graphite would be *great* but being conductive and all, not so good here.) YMMV. Good luck!

Jig-a-loo was first on my list of liquids to try. (Silicone.) But I'm able to actually lay hands on my can of Pam right now, whereas the Jig-a-loo seems to be MIA.

I'll let you know how it goes this weekend.
