Early Television Convention is this weekend
And if you can't make it this year, we plan to do a live webcast of the events all day Saturday. It will be available on the home page of the Early Television Foundation and Museum's website.
just received an email a couple days ago from Ustream, that says the 2013 convention has now gone live :-)
Love to see a video of the 2015 Auction.
Also some pictures of the event too. BTW, out of curiosity, how much did that Philco 48-2500 projection TV go for? |
Think it went for like $60 or so. I was pretty tempted, but I ended up coming home with a ton as it is.....
I picked up the Philco 48-2500 for $30.
Any idea how much the Motorola 19CK1 went for?

Hi, I picked up a Philco 48-2500 at the ETV in 2012. I found it to be one of the most interesting restorations that I've done. Thought about donating it to the ETV museum as their 48-2500 is a non working TV --but I liked mine too much to let it go. I had my 48-2500 working for about a year but later it failed. Its been on my workbench to fix for a long time waiting for me to get back interested in it. How complete was your Philco 48-2500? Carl |
As near as I can tell, everything that should be there, is. The front screen is in excellent condition, and the mirrors don't look to shabby either. It should restore pretty easily.

There was a rumor that 10 inch set sitting on the floor in the right front area in the silent auction was a Sanabria/Deforest kit? Anyone know anything about it or who got that one?
I was helping them unload. That was the suspicion, but I don't believe they knew for sure....it was brought from the National Capital Radio & Television Museum in Bowie MD.
Actually it was brought by someone else. It is a Telekit, with an extra knob.

I was taking the Western Visionette I won at the auction this morning to Craters and Freighters in the trunk of my rental car. I got rear ended on the way over there but the TV survived. It is now waiting to be crated and shipped to California.

I got rear-ended on my way to pick up the DuMont color set. No real damage to the car, but if the set was in there, who knows what might have happened. I assume you both are OK? |
