Where can I find an EM80 magic eye?
 

I *FINALLY* finished recapping and cleaning my Philips/Norelco Biampli radio. The buttons are still sticky and it needs a new EM80 magic eye, but it sounds good:yes:

I currently don't have an e-bay account plus the prices on the bay seem to be all over the place. A lot of them seem to be from Eastern Europe or China. Can these sellers be trusted? Also are there certain brands of EM80 tubes I should be wary of? I was hoping there would be more amperex ones, but maybe there aren't any left in the world.

On another note, what can I do about the sticking buttons?

EM80 is a euro number and IIRC amperex is an American company. If you want an American tube you will need to find the ID # of the American equivalent if one exists.

My bad, I meant Philips/Amperex/Miniwatt, or basically a Philips made EM80 of any re-brand. The original is a Philips Miniwatt.

I don't think many of the EM series had american manufactured counterparts, except maybe the EM84. Usually they had an american equivalent number, but were imported tubes rebranded by american companies. EM80s are not too hard to find, much easier than the EM85 used by one of my radios.

Looks like Tube Depot has the 6BR5/EM80 for $20. Not the cheapest out there but I usually get tube boxes through them. I should probably consider replacing the original dial lights. They are a Philips 8024D/71. (6.3v 300mA screw base). Will the #46 bulbs work? (They are the same except 250mA) Some people have actually soldered in LEDs, but I am reluctant to alter the originality that much.
