Ok I just won this tv at auction (not ebay) It came with sams 89-2 for a Airline but someone wrote Raytheon 7DX21 on the chassis. I see no makers name on the set anywhere. Also it dont look like the cabinet has been refinished.

It's a Raytheon built set. I think they were sold under the Truetone name also but I'm not sure.
There was also a kit version of the set.

Here's a picture of mine, it also has the Raytheon decal, the refinish is somewhat bad on the front but I didn't want to strip it and lose the markings. Mine has the round, fluted small knobs, I've seen both the round and the squarish x ones that match the channel selector so both are correct but I don't know why they changed types.

Raytheon made some oddball stuff, r.f. HV supplies instead of flybacks, even on their 10" sets, 50C5 horizontal sweep circuits, and that bizzare tuner!

There is a PDF attachment at the bottom containing the brochure for the kit version of this set.

Those are nice looking sets. Easy to find that channel knob in the dark. :)

It's a Airline, the Truetone has a cabinet like the Coronado and Airline has cabinet like the Raytheon. They all use the same chassis. See photo. TV on lower left is a Coronado and TV on lower right is a Raytheon.

Very nice set!
I've seen them under a few different names too with slight cabinet variations. Definitely one of the more scarcer early post-war 7" sets. I had heard years ago that these have rather odd tuners in them that could be tricky in a restoration.

That's my favorite of the 7" sets. Great find!!

If you can't find one, try looking for some nice perforated metal sheets on eBay that resemble the style of the original and cut your own. I've done it a few times and they come out pretty good!
