Flyback Part # For Zenith 17X22U Chassis
1 Attachment(s)
Hello,
I have a 1957 Zenith X2248RU console set that is needing a flyback. I was using the set daily until it went bad about 2 months ago. I'm wanting to see if there's a part number for a replacement flyback. It has the 17X22U chassis. I've tried horizontal output, & the horizontal output tube with no luck, so it leaves me with knowing the flyback is dead. If anyone knows what the part number is on one of them please let me know so I can start looking for one and start pricing the part. I included a picture of the set itself. Thanks in advance. -Jacques |
Does the fly look burned out or test open? There are a LOT of things in the horizontal section that will cause you to loose HV if they fail. Check the voltages on the base of the horizontal output tube and compare them to what is listed on the schematic (Which you should own a copy of). If the Horizontal oscillator is not running (or poorly running) you can change the fly, all the tubes, the yoke, etc., and still not get your HV back.
Has this set had all it's electrolytic and tubular capacitors replaced? If not, you ought to do that too. |
