Cubs vs. Indians. Philco 7" vs. GE color. You decide. I will be at game 5 Sunday in Chicago. Deep left field tix. Go Cubs. Go Philco.

Ditto. Go Cubs and Philco. Mind you both teams are starving for a championship, the Cubs a wee bit longer. Nice to see both of them in there.

Can't readily come up with an Ohio brand of TVs, but would like to point out Chicago had plenty of good TV makers most notably Admiral, Motorola and Zenith to represent them.

I'm not much of a sports fan, but I am rooting for the Cubs.

Crosley was a early TV Ohio brand. Go Indians.:thmbsp:

I have both sets!
I'm seriously thinking about selling the Philco! Would prefer trading for a tin-box roundie RCA CTC16 series. :thmbsp:

The Meck brand was an Ohio product. Go CUBS!

Meck was a Plymouth,Indiana make. Every tube was stamped with that info.

My Bad!

OOPS I meant Wells Gardner, not Meck

You should set the converter box to not be in letterbox mode. That way, it would look more like a game played when the sets were new.

Dave A 10-27-2016 06:38 PM

I wish I could. It is a simple DTA box with a fixed RF output. Some channels are 4x3...some are letterbox depending on what the channel/Comcast is sending. No need for a full HD adjustable box on top of my fridge. This is good for $2/month.

Electronic M 10-28-2016 06:35 AM

Some of the tiny adapters (cisco) have zoom settings for that in the user menu.

Sorry! Not Wells Gardner either! They were always in Chicago.
Midwest was an Ohio make, besides Crosley. :scratch2:

I can't stand letterboxes on my 4:3 sets. That's my biggest disappointment with Roku. It's great for the classic stuff on hulu, but that's a pretty limited selection.

Big Dave 10-30-2016 07:21 PM

I vote for Philco. Go Indians.
