Yup thats the original HOT. 121-831 & its a tough SOB !
The fact that it didnt blow with an opened S cap is amazing !
Replaced by an 800- kit then IIRC a 977- kit.
G line is after the recalled sets but when ever I saw
American Radionics I RAN for a replacement. Hold til you
need room. Prob any Zenith 23V of the era will fit BUT the
23" never had quite the pix as the 25V. If one never shows
you will have a great module kit.

Nah, can't tear this one apart, it's in nicer shape than the flat was when I got it. Not only that, it's my only "mini" console. I'll either wait on one with a trashed cabinet and a good CRT or await a NOS unit. There are probably many floating around because of the safety cap fiasco. It's still plenty bright enough, it was even before I zapped it. It was the low emissions reading and failure of the life test that bugged me. I saw a video of a 23V CCII that had a lot of problems until it was recapped, i.e. the vertical not filling the screen (mine has this problem too) then it was fine.

Seems there are varying opinions on the 23V versus the 25V, and flat versus upright. The flat produces a rather disappointing picture in my opinion. That common horizontal shift problem for example, and no horizontal centering control is a thorn in my side. Then the darn thing started having sync issues, the tuner drive started skipping channels regardless of tab position... retired permanently.

So, are the G-line sets 1976 models? Seems this was harder to figure out on later CCIIs.
