GE 806 - Volume / Focus potentiometer help!
Hello, everyone,
I am in the process of restoring a GE 806 10" tabletop set. I'm almost done with the restoration, but the volume/focus potentiometer is bad and I need to find a replacement. The pot is a 100k/500k dual concentric pot with a power switch. Does anyone have a spare parts chassis or pot of this type or know where I could find one? I was able to fix the focus (100k) pot to work with carbon paint. It's not perfect, but it works. The volume pot (500k section) is too far gone, though and I am either getting full blast volume or nothing. Thanks in advance for your help and recommendations. If more information is needed, I am glad to provide. I appreciate the help! |
You're in luck.....I have a whole front control panel for one, controls intact. PM me your address and I'll send you the volume/focus control :)

Anyone have the similar (but not identical) control for a GE 810? On the 810, the volume/power control is one unit, and a concentric hollow shaft with a pulley drives the focus pot mounted above.

Hello, everyone!
Tim kindly looked for this part for me, but it wasn't good. Does anyone else have any recommendations for finding this for my GE 806? I really appreciate your help. |

I hope something of that can help. The larger resistor has a 6mm/10mm shaft, the smaller has a 4mm/8mm one. I have a plenty of them on hands, and can re-assemble any one with the required resistance combination. |
Thank you for your reply, Gleb!
The inner control is supposed to control a 500k pot for the volume and the outer control is supposed to control a 100k pot for the focus. Do you have something that would fit that description? I'll have to measure the shafts on the originals - I doubt these would be the correct length, but maybe I could fabricate something to work. I appreciate your help and will of course pay you for your time, the part, and shipping if you find something that can help. Thanks again! |

Have you succeed with Mark Oppat? If not, my offer is still valid.
