Philco 48-2500 projection tv

Greetings !

I'm looking for a width control for a Philco 48-2500. It's (according to SAM'S spec's) is 20 ohms. It also has a center tap and a ferrite adjustable slug.
It looks like the old one fried out probably 40 years ago.

Thanks

Keith

The Philco part number for the width control is 32-4163-1. 20 ohms with a center tap. I'm assuming that the center tap would be measured at 10 ohms. (the Sam's Photofact does not address that) Two coils on the tubular form (connected in series), brass screw adjustment for the ferrite slug.
If anybody wants to sell a entire Philco chassis (48-2500) with the width control intact, I will gladly pay for the chassis and shipping. After changing out all the caps and a handful of resisters, a spare chassis doesn't seem like a bad idea. A good TP400a projection tube would be great too.

Thank you

Keith:

I do not have that part in my Philco parts stash. I checked and there is no Merit or Thordarson sub for it. It does look like it was used in most of the 1948 models so a chassis from the following models will have the part. 48-1000, 48-1001, 48-1050. Good luck.

Philco 48-2500 width control

Hey Tim

Thanks for looking through your Philco stuff, and the info on the Philco TV'S that have this part. I wish I had more technical info on this part. The Sam's doesn't have much technical info, if it did Maybe I could match it up with a different manufacturer. I'll keep looking.

Thanks again

Keith

Keith:

The Philco factory service manual for the 48-2500 is on the ETF site:
