Help identify a 1950s Magnavox
 

I may be taking on a new project and I'd like to identify the set so I can look up the service info. So far all I have is a photo the owner sent me.

Also he says the set in this YouTube video titled '1956 Magnavox' looks identical.

Three years of Magnavox sets were similar. Upright chassis like many of the others in the same time frame, 1955-57.
It looks like the control panel cover was removed. The cabinet lifts off the base that the chassis and CRT are mounted. :scratch2:

Thanks for the info. He sent me a photo of the back but there is no model number. I expect I'll need to take a look at the chassis.

I checked Rider but they don't show any photos of Maganavox sets.

I see what you mean about the control door. I hope he still has it.

These are definitely Magnavox knobs. You can see the hinges where the control door was once mounted.

:thmbsp: Thank You bandersen for posting that video , it was great to see how the control lid turned on the TV when opened and turned it off when closed , a TV feature I've never seen before .

I'd never seen it either. Cool feature.

The owner finally sent me some new photos confirming it's a model U141LX4 made August, 1956.

Wow...hardly a speck of dust in there! (Unless the guy gave it a quick vacuum:))
