1948 Motorola VT-71M-A TV for sale locally on Facebook Marketplace
Hello everyone I was browsing through Facebook Marketplace this evening and someone on there just posted a 1948 Motorola VT-71M-A TV for sale on there for $125 and I was wondering if I should try to get it or if someone else here would like to try and pick it up?
https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...7594285292718/ the link above should direct you to the Fackebook Marketplace Posting of the TV in question. EDIT: Please Disregard the model number in the thread's title, its wrong, I accidentally put the wrong model number in and I don't know how to fix it, the correct model number is whithin the thread itself. |
They are nice sets when restored. Very straight forward. You can get a reproduction rubber face mask from this guy:
http://www.renovatedradios.com/productlist.php Sweep coupling capacitors can be purchased from: https://www.justradios.com/ Don't use disc capacitors to couple the sweep to the deflection plates in the CRT. They don't work as well. Of course, if the CRT, 7JP4 is a dud, that can be a problem! Please, keep us informed. |

I'm guessing this Motorola isn't as rare as the Meck I'm currently working on. What would be a good price to offer the guy for the TV? |
If the CRT is unknown condition don't offer more than $50...a good new CRT would be as much as the asking price if not more, and ther are fewer valuable parts in the set to part out than many other sets.
