For want of a horse...
After getting my Philco 116-122 returned I immediately turned my gaze to my malfunctioning Philco 37-665B radio. My adjacent Zenith 11S474 has been dead for over a year. I "canned" a 6A8 tube from the Zenith to find it dead as a stone! Two dead 6A8 tubes. Canned a tube from a Zenith 5801 chassis on the bench: Huzzah! It works! Will the 11 tube Zenith be resurrected with another good tube? Ordered 4 replacement metal tubes and waiting patiently. Anxiously awaiting an answer. I want all these nice units operational!

The aforementioned Zenith 11S474 console was returned to service today. One blown 6A8 mixer successfully replaced. The tone-organ, presets and band switches require tuner cleaner otherwise... She makes musical noise again!!!
