Suddenly: NO Signal

all of a sudden, i get the "no signal" flashing around on the screen. My remote seems to work, but i cannot find any channels or signal. volume control seems to work but the set is silent with black screen. I can do some of the functions on the remote (cable company remote).....

You really need to help us a bit and post the make and model number...

In any case, the basic procedure is to make sure your input source is working.

Unplug AC from both the TV and your feed source.

Try another cable box or DVD player. Try new cables.

its a Hisense TV. I did run the cable from another TV to the set and it still produced no image. I also unplugged the cable box and TV and repowered with no results. I will try again today. It was working fine and just stopped.

You didn't say if you power cycled the TV but try that as well. If only the HDMIs are out (we see that often), you can use a component to HDMI adapter as a workaround. If none of the inputs work, then just pick up a main board from ebay from a cracked screen donor. Make sure the model number is exact and the numbers on the boards are exact. Many of these have the same model number on the back but are partially or totally different beasts inside.

John, I worked the controls on the front of the set itself. The TV is working again. I work on old radios, when I do so, I always try the basic stuff first. Thanks for your input on this little project. I appreciate your efforts.
