Interesting find at Bed Bath and Beyond

Today I was at my local Bed Bath and Beyond. In the clearance aisle, there was a 13" Toshiba CRT TV/VCR combo on clearance for $15, marked as "display".

Really surprised to see that for sale! I wonder if they used to use this to show product promo videos originally? Store was built in 2007 so I would think VHS was just about dead by then.

Now they usually use small LCD TVs (forget the brand) hooked up to Sony DVD players.

There's a GameStop in my town that still has a CRT security monitor in use, that's pretty surreal.

I wish my store had one on clearance.

Every Arby's I've ever seen always has green phosphor monochrome CRT cash registers kitchen order display monitors.

A couple of years ago there was an old Menards in the Milwaukee area that had this automated video display system from the 80s at every work station on the floor that said who the people on duty in that department were and displayed ads...most of the CRT TVs were newer. I only went there once back when the folks were installing hardwood floors (and looking for the best stock from each store).

I was at one Menard's store, where the monitors used were late 80's Zeniths from the bad CRT era and the sets looked it, nasty!
