CRTs for Gaming Salvaged CRTs in General
Hi All,
Just wondering if there is some list or criteria for CRTs that need to be trashed or perhaps worthwhile for someone. I understand 1980s TV CRTs are often wanted for replacements in video games. I have #s like A63ABP12X, M68LWF088X50, A34KQW42X, & A51JXS098X96. Many more I don't have in my list yet. I'm beginning to get too many and will need to dump some. Probably not practical to ship either. Thanks in advance for anyone's 2˘. Dan S. |
Quite a can of worms. Most CRT's are electrically the same. Then
you have to have a good fit. Beyond that games probably went from common consumer jugs to higher resolution CRT's & actual computer monitors. Differences were many but in most cases unimportant. We used to have a CRT spec chart that decoded MODERN CRT numbers but I have looked on the internet & didnt find it. Old US & jap style numbers were easier. Getting rid of the dead wood "legally" is also an issue. to do it right it will cost you $$$ like $20 - $30 each...... 73 Zeno:smoke: LFOD ! |
There's a chance the Early Television Museum in Hilliard Ohio might accept a donation of some good used CRTs...Worth asking anyway.
