I was on TV!

(Is this in the right place on the forums? Heh)

The local news company found me through the railroad museum where I work. One thing led to another during conversation, and I ended up doing a little story for them on air about electronics repair. This resulted in a deluge of repair requests, some of which I've discussed with y'all here. :P This was a neat experience and I'm really happy with how they ran the story. I was under the 'feel-good news' part of their website, too.

Here's a link to the story, with a video you should be able to view. The actual story on TV was about 30 seconds longer, but most of it is in the online video. Tell me what you think!

Very cool. Congrats on making the news.so true about the amount of electronic ending up in landfills.
I used to make good coin fixing stuff back in the late 90's early 2000's. VCR's were my specialty.

I don't have Spectrum anymore to have seen it, but being Bay News 9, you must be very local to me then, because I live in New Port Richey and BN9 would be a station I could have gotten if I still had them.

Wasn't bay news 9 the Bright House cable news station?.... It's been a decade since I lived in Lakeland FL and got that station so perhaps spectrum (more like scrotum) cable gobbled them up the way they ate up Time Warner cable up here (and made them worse).

I'm located in Orlando, near the international airport (MCO). Spectrum News 13 used to be Central Florida News 13 before the Charter takeover.

Agree on Spectrum being garbage, the signal quality has taken a noticeable dive since Bright House (and before that, TWC) went away. We are also now paying nearly $185 a month for basic digital cable (no DVR!) and supposedly 60 MBPS Internet, though we rarely see better than 30. (To be fair, some or most of that latter issue may be on our end. I've been too lazy to check.)

You just reminded me that I still have an RCA Selectavision top loading VCR that I need to find belts for...works otherwise.
