UHF tuner shaft

I have a uhf tuner shaft that is totally seized anyone ever here of that. Is there a specific end that is known to seize maybe front bushing or rear. Even though uhf will never be used but I would like to free it up to keep it original.

Try some penetrating oil like PB'laster or Kroil on the bushings. Apply liberally and let sit 2 hours and try to crack it loose.

The grease these and record changers use has a tendency to turn into glue/cement if allowed to sit still 10+ years. Penetrating oil tends to dissolve it (and corrosion).

You can try the heat of a soldering iron on the metal shaft, after you remove the plastic knobs. Heat will also tend to draw the penetrating oil deeper into the bushing.
