PayPay now charging a fee for use of "Friends and Family"?

Hello everyone, I was trying to send some money to someone to compensate them for shipping costs for shipping me parts for repairing an old 1910s vintage Hunter Table Fan and I was trying to send the money using PayPal F & F and PayPal was trying to charge me a fee for that! :nono:

Does anyone on here know why PayPal would be trying to charge me a fee to use one of their money transfer features that isn't supposed to charge a fee? :scratch2:

I figured out that it was because they charge a fee if you use a credit card they charge you a 2% fee but if you use your checking account then they don't charge you a fee (which I had never heard of that before.)

Someone has to pay the CC fee.

I think its to also discourage people using Friends and Family for item payments and constant complaints about people using that, then the seller ghosts and you can't file a claim because you got caught with your pants down.
