Got a TV with lingering issues ?

Answer: trade it to another VK'er for one of thiers !:D

I have moved along a few sets I did not quite take to the finish line by trading them for similarly impaired sets from other members.
I'm not suggesting we crap swap with our tough dogs here, no! Sets must be viable with a CRT good enough to produce a picture in a LIT room.

Far from dumping junk, we only want to help each other downsize and the best way is to change the depressing scenery in our shop areas is by trading.

Got a set you put time into with something still wrong, but you are DONE working on? PM me if you want MY list, provided we are willing to meet/travel.

For a '58 Sylvania-built RCA 17S090 that a member recapped, that wouldn't power up, I traded him a Motorola VT-71 with a good CRT but lots of
experimenter "mods" I was not ready to deal with, being a novice in the earliest TV department.

I was able to quickly see the issue in the power supply of that series string cheap Sylvania, having brought many similar sets back from the dead.

The VK'er who got my Motorola VT-71 (TS-4G) wasted no time recapping and restoring the set to operation.

That's a great deal, win-win and now there are two working TV sets ready to rehome!

No more of those lousy black walnuts, got any English ones? My teeth are getting old and brittle.

Climate down here is getting warmer, now pecan trees are a possibility

We got black walnut trees that overhang the property, and hate them. The nuts STINK, the trees emit substances in the soil that inhibit growth of other plants limiting where we can place our vegetable garden, the nuts accumulate on the grass killing it, and one of the trees overhangs the metal mower shed so in fall on windy day/night/whenever you're trying to sleep even on the farthest corner of the house it sounds like the Tinman and the Iron Giant are having a boxing match...:thumbsdn:
I'd kinda like to get permission to saw those 2 damn trees down and be done with them...

Mr. Squirrel
With the snow a lot of pesky birds came & ate the sunflower seeds.
Along with that several of your ilk
6 Grey grey sq's
1 black grey sq
1 white grey sq.
3 red red sq's
Chipmunks stayed in. Smart !
You would have been in good company.

We have a few black walnut trees out back, no problem as they are by themselves and
keep to themselves..... I have only seen one white grey squirrel unfortunately he was
run over by a car, and it was over 10 years ago. We have one all black squirrel and
about 17 regular greys that show up for breakfast daily, along with 2 red squirrels
that have been here 2 years now.... This is their first appearance around the house
as far as I know.... Racing squirrels (Chipmunks) have gone underground now
that it's getting cold.... Along with the 4 footers, are several varieties of birds
that also show up & they all ground feed with the squirrels out front under a
big old pine trimmed up to give them all shelter from the hawks while
they eat..... I go through a 50# bag of black oil sunflower seeds
in a little over a month. Our house is the neighborhood
Olive Garden for local wildlife.....

The crows get 2 slices of bread cut up in little squares next to the
driveway as they like to eat out in the open & away from the
always eating & running squirrels...... Crows are very polite
to one another, & there is always a look-out keeping
watch while the other 3 eat. Blue-Jays tend to be
rude and loud, the crows sit back and wait till
they are done and move on....
