Sam's Folders Purchase

Greetings everyone, I just made the move to buy two plastic totes full of Sam's Photofact Folders from someone locally on Facebook Marketplace for $40 and I'm going to go pick them up (and pay for them) tomorrow afternoon, from what I could see in the photos, it looked like the majority of them are still unopened (still stapled together in their folder binding) and are various volumes ranging from the 200s to the 900s possibly?

I think this should round out my existing Sam's Folder lineup that dates to the late 1940s (when they first got started) up to the late 1950s, and should be able to come in handy if I ever need to work on some old radios for people so I don't have to pay $$ for scans on the Sam's Website.

Did I do good pricewise by paying $40 for the folders?
I was kind of guessing on a price because the guy that listed them just said to shoot him an offer and I didn't want to rip the guy off because I know what they are and how valuable they can be to repair guys like us, but I also didn't want to overpay either. I think there was probably at least 150-200 folders in this stash, but not sure.

I think that was a fair price for ones in that number range.

That's good to know, because I didn't want to overpay for them, but I also didn't want to underpay for them either, and I've definitely been on the look out for some of the later tube era, and early solid state era Sam's Folders and now that I've found some that were at a good price I should be good to go for a while. :thmbsp: :D

That seems reasonable. It's about what I would offer for the bankers box worth of random sets I'm missing between 800 and 1800.

Some of the collections I got were free some I paid for, but one thing has been universal....I more or less can't give my duplicates sets away even to the local clubs and most of them got recycled...

I got a chance to go through them last night and it turned out that the manuals I got were a nearly complete set covering between 112 and 412 with two volumes missing in the 100s (141 and 143 if I remember right) and when I looked over the Sams and what volumes were there, and the ones I already had I think maybe the ones I already have might of been the ones that were missing from the set that I just bought and that quite possibly the ones I already had and the ones I just bought might have came from the same person/repair shop originally... :scratch2:
