This year, the Early Television Museum Auction will feature 5 premium items:

CBS RX-89 prototype 15 inch color set from 1953. With good 15GP22
General Electric 15CL100 15 inch color set from 1954. With good 15GP22
Replica of 1928 General Electric Octagon mechanical set
Rare Muntz 721CV 21 inch color set with good 21AXP22
Admiral C322C17 21 inch color set with good 21AXP22

You can make an offer for any of these sets online. If your offer is higher than the highest bid at the Convention Auction, you win. Offers can be placed until 8 PM on Friday, May 1.

If the in person bidding stops below the online offer will the high bidder have the option of outbidding the offer?

The best offer received online will be the starting bid at the auction. If a higher bid is received at the auction, that bid will be the winner. If a higher bid is not received at the auction, the person making the online offer will be the winner.

The person who made the online bid will not get a chance to counter offer.

Is there a separate page for early color sets to make offers??

The auction ended back in may! Some of the items didn't sell including the prewar sets still on that page it's possible some of the no sales might still be available, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

I am curious now, if the Muntz 721CV is the one John Folsom had, with a blond cabinet and (as far as I could tell) a replacement RCA CTC-5 Deluxe chassis and tuner?

His set and my mahogany-cabinet one with original chassis and (Muntz) tuner are the only two in existence as of the last time I checked.

The blond Munt set the ETF sold in that auction is the one John Folsom had. It went to Jeffrey Skolarous (I think I've got the spelling wrong).

I was tempted to bid on it, but I wanted to save my dough for the 15GP22 sets... Which I learned had a reserve higher than I wanted to spend given I'm looking for a lower mileage rust free southern GMT800 Escalade ESV to replace my rusty GMT800 suburban...

I did come home with the Admiral... I got to see it make a color picture here before life got busy and ate my summer.

The blonde Muntz was still at the museum as of two weeks ago. Not sure when Jeff is going to pick it up.

The blonde CTC-5 Muntz was delivered on Tuesday, 8/18. I immediately swapped the incorrect mahogany channel selector and on/off knobs with NOS blonde replacements prior to putting the set in storage. We checked the 21AX at the museum and it had excellent cutoff and emissions on all guns, so that’s a plus. A quick look over of the set shows that John did some nice restorative work in the past, including replacement of many capacitors.
