Really nice Roundie on eBay

Does it belong to someone here?

I wish it belonged to me...

Me, too ! Some of us would give our eyeteeth for a roundie that good-wonder why he's wanting to sell it? -Sandy G.

Man,

That is a showroom fresh set. I'd make room for it. To bad it's not in sunny So. Cal.

Is that original peacock on the front of a Bonanza DVD/tape?

jstout66 01-23-2005 05:49 PM

I think I will actually drive and get this one if the bidding doesn't get too nuts. It'll be a long haul for me as I am in Omaha. You can never tell on the later roundies of what they will go for. I did see a CTC-5 or 7 just went for $1100 on eBay. Here's the link on that one. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...e=STRK:MEWA:IT

well.... I ended up bidding on this one. Wish me luck. If I win, it will be going into my living-room as my "daily watcher".

Wow, they just don't get any better than that. Beautiful. I had to cross that model #, the description sez its a Mark 10 and I was curious what chassis it would be-its a CTC-16. That basic control panel seemed to survive several chassis revisions. I have it on a 15 & I think I've seen it on a 12 as well. Anyway, somebody is getting a great set. Need to make sure and get the story behind it.

Oh, and, good luck jstout!

That set is freakin awesome! I wonder if someone has recently gone thru it? Or if it's only had minor repairs thru the years? The picture is as stunning as the cabinet!

Nice touch in the photos with the nbc peacock and the Bonanza shot... being that RCA ran ads with that show on the screen when those sets were new.

Good luck with the bidding... we're all rootin for ya.

Thanks Charlie!!! If I win I will get the "story" behind it and post pix. I'm sure the picture tube has been changed in its lifetime as there is NO halo or delamination. I really want this one, because I was stupid and sold a really nice CTC-16 with a "black-matrix" tube in it years ago and have regretted it since.

Thats a sharp set, looks like its in excellent condition all around. Good luck james! I hope you get it!

That is one bootyful set! I too have a CTC-16 from '64 although it's in storage at the moment. It also came with the same booklet as pictured in the center in the below picture (swiped from the auction)

I have been watching that set as well. It's all I can do to not bid on it. I am in West TN. about a 5 hour drive, and I have a one ton extended van to move it in. If my wife would go on vacation for a while we would have a new tv in the collection:)

IIRC, my aunt's TV had the same or similar control panel, I remember hers was a "Vistacolor" and I think she got hers around 1962 maybe. Her knobs were different though. Her speakers were laid out the same way too. Man, wish I had the room, time and money, I would love to have a roundie although someday I'd like to try and tackle the 1970/71 Zenith Chromacolor I still have.

jstout66 01-29-2005 09:18 PM

I see that I'm still the high-bidder. I'll be nervously at the computer tomorrow!! If I win, my brother will be driving me up next week-end. He's got an extended Ford truck with a topper. It will be about a 9 hour drive for us. If I win I will have alot of reconfiguring to do in my livingroom, altho I think I have a pretty workable plan. And NowhereMan 1966, what's up with your Zenith Chromacolor? I have a 19" 1972 model. It's chassis number 19DC11. It's got a great picture on it. I use it in my bedroom. I do have many spare Zenith parts, so let me know if you need any, and I'll get them right out to you.
