I dont know why, but there seems to be a large number of old TV's showing up on Craigslist, lately. I thought I would post 'em here...maybe you guys will find something you'll want.

Personally, I'd toss this TV and use the cabinet as a bar! Sorry, guys.

And the cabinet. Beautiful woodwork!

Because these links are only good for 30 days, or however long it takes for the seller to get rid of the item, I will remove the link in about a month and leave the pics up for reference.

Good grief, Michael! That's a rare bird...I couldn't read but I'd not be suprised if it said Stromberg Carlson or another small maker, and that cab would probably be a Chinese Classic type model. 19-21" CRT makes it maybe 1953 or '54 I'd guess.

Note that the CL ad was posted under the collectibles category....I never search by category as people often list things in the "wrong" place....I find that doing a general serach under "For Sale/Wanted" yields the best results.

Don't forget to search the "Free" section for some amazing deals too! Ended up with a pair of Large Advent speakers this way!

the set looks like an RCA. Like the design of the stereo as well, but it is priced high. Seems like you can't give those consoles away.

Actually on closer inspection it may be 12" or 15" and earlier. Oriental themed cabinets were popular as I've seen only until maybe 1955, at which point TVs were a vanity item somewhat and nobody wished to hide one. Your wife would enjoy the set as well as the cabinet, although it's too bad it doesn't have a radio/phono section. A beautiful "relic" from the days when a TV was furniture like radios once were.
