The color looking funny could simply be due to the camera. Depending on the lighting in the room, it is often difficult to get a good picture of one of these roundies operating. It might also be due to a cheaper camera.

In my experience, it seems that many photos of the screen turn out looking somewhat blue... although looking at the screen live will have perfect color. Pictures of b&w screens often turn out with a blue tint as well.

In my old camera, there is a setting for the white balance... choices are automatic, indoor, and outdoor. Usually, it's always on automatic. I've learned that while taking photos of operating sets, changing this setting to indoor helps a lot in making screen shots look more natural.

That's a nice looking set... looks like someone will be getting a nice addition to their collection!

Where is Jonathon? He was wanting an early RCA... and this one is not too far from him.

Nice set, but I'm guessing it'll go past $500 or close to it... It's probably in perfect condition.

You guys are right...that camera and lighting was bad...Here is a better pix with the CTC 4 and two of it's cousins.

Take care,

Great picture.

Ah-hah! So, that ebay seller was own of our own!

Kirk, that's an awesome looking shot on those three sets with the NBC peacock! Breath-taking! Those sets kick ass! And they keep that room warm, too!

nasadowsk 05-19-2005 05:07 PM

Hmmm

Kirk's got a CT-100.

But MY CTC-7 has a REMOTE :)

Hmmm.

Still need a CT-100 for me, though :(

Hey Kirk,

What is the source of your NBC peacokk video?

bgadow 05-20-2005 02:30 PM

Yep, some folks use a hair dryer or a toaster oven to burn a thousand watts. But this, yeah, this is a way to burn a thousand watts!

Pete Deksnis 05-20-2005 05:00 PM

Let's start a Kilowatt-O-Color Club. Kirk's the first member.

Kirk 05-20-2005 10:40 PM

LOL...
I tried to 7 of them one time and had to use two circuits...

The source of the peacock is a VHS tape. The peacock is included in the beginning of a "Best of Johnny Carson" video. It is a short segment, so I copied it about 30 times so that is repeats.

ceebee23 05-21-2005 02:58 AM

Kirk,

What a wonderful shot and I love the peacock image ....

Which set in your collection ....excluding the CTC100 ..which must a be a special case....is you favourite?
