Clearing out my granddads house and came across his old set. He was some high muckity muck with NBC and got this set in the 50's. I recall his telling us us kids not to play around near it for fear we'd bust it :-) My digital camera is broken so I scanned in a pic from some of the paperwork that comes with it. Dont know if it works, sold as is, best cash offer. Thanx

This whole "digital camera is broken" business feels extremely hinky. The "paperwork scan" shown is indeed from a service manual and it looks identical to the artwork from that manual as seen on Ed Reitan's site...verrrrrry interesting, considering that artwork was COLORIZED IN PHOTOSHOP!

Just curious, other than an overall 'look' how is it that you can tell when a pic has been photoshopped? Is there a way to look at the code?

Edit....stupid me, I just reread your post and now understand that you were saying that the posted photo was apparently a copy of a colorized pic! I agree, something smells here....pew, sorry, I had beans for din din.

Anthony,

On behalf of all us sleepy So. Cal. collectors,
thanks for the "wake up call" from way up there in No. Cal.

Once in a blue moon I check other cities within "striking distance"....e-mailed the seller but it bounced back as undeliverable....the ad is now gone. I think we've been had!

You guys are probably right... someone is likely trying pull a fast one on us. Some folks have no shame!

However, don't be too quick to dismiss this. As Mr. Spock said... There are always possibilities. Would be a good idea to keep your radars finely tuned in case this were to turn out to be genuine.
