1954 Olympic Console
 

Hi,

I have an elderly aunt who has some stuff she wants to sell, including a 1954 model Olympic console unit. I'm sorry, but I've misplaced the paper I had the model and serial number written on. Anyhow, I offered to try to find out how much to ask for the thing, and where to try to sell it. Any info on this will be greatly appreciated.

This unit includes a B&W TV - looks like about 19" or so - on the left side of the cabinet, and a radio and record player on the right. The cabinet is quite nice and looks almost new. It's been stored since they bought their first color set in the early 60's. My aunt claims that everything works - or worked when they store it - but I haven't verified that.

My advice would be to find someone interested in old TV's
and give it to them....there is not a lot of monetary collector
value to most old B&W TV's from the 50's.

Thanks Chad. I kind of thought that might be the situation. She also has a really old sewing machine I did a bit of research on. Seems there are a lot of people that love the old machines, but they are quite plentiful and don't have much monetary value.

Any chance there is a nice tube amp or tuner hiding in there? If so then it may have some value to someone, not monetary however.

The set is all tube. I have to assume that the radio and record player are powered by a tube amp, but the way the cabinet is configured, I don't believe it is stereo.

It's a White treadle machine. It's in great shape, but it isn't one of the ones with all the fancy scroll work - decals? I checked ebay and there are plenty of machines for sale but there does n't seem to be many buyers.
