Seeking schematic for 12" Scott TV/800B combo

I'm still trying to track down a TV schematic for my Scott Labs 800B TV/radio/phono combo set. Details and photos at:

http://antiqueradio.org/scot03.htm

This has a 12" direct-view CRT. Scott sold this combo with other TVs, but so far nobody (including Norman Braithwaite) has been able to unearth a schematic that matches this set. Note the power chassis with picture controls, accessible through a peekaboo opening in the lower cabinet.

If you look at the breakdown of things among the 3 chassis, as well as the control layouts, continuously-variable type tuner, etc., the set should be pretty distinctive.

Some folks have told me that Scott undoubtedly contracted with some other manufacturer to supply this TV. The question is . . . who, and what's the model?

Grateful for any help. I'd gladly pay "retail" for the schematic!

Phil,

According to the SAMS index the schematic for the radio is SAMS 14 Folder 27 and the schematic for the Scott 800BT which is for the TV chassis is SAMS 52 Folder 19. I might have the TV chassis SAMS. I have the Rider's for it.

Thanks, but the 800BT has a projection TV ( http://www.radiodaze.com/Scott-800BT.htm ), completely different from the direct-view 12" TV in my set ( http://antiqueradio.org/art/scott800b601.jpg ).

Scott combined the 800B radio with a few different TVs.

I'm looking for a schematic that matches my TV, which has a 12" CRT and three chassis as described in the original post. Some folks have suggested looking at Dumont . . . or manufacturers located not too far from Chicago.

Regards,

Phil Nelson

That variable cap tuner looks suspiciously like one that was in a Garod I restored several years ago. I dunno if that helps any? BTW - thats a great lookin' set (I want one)

I found Rider's schematic for a 12" direct view CRT 12JP4. The schematic gives instructions on hooking it up to Scott 800-B Radio-Phongraph. It is an older Rider's than the 800BT projection set. The chassis is 13-A. It does not look like your chassis however

Phil:

You might try looking on the transformers, coils, chokes, yoke, etc. for the EIA codes of the makers of the components. That may give some clue as to the maker. For more on EIA codes, you can go here:

http://www.triodeel.com/eiacode.htm

There is more complete mfg code info here under RMA List:

Is it a 12" or 16" CRT?

Aha, it wouldn't have occurred to me to look at those components.

It's a 12" CRT.

Thanks!

Your restoration article lists the crt as a 16AP4 so I was not sure which was right.

Good luck with those Mfr. codes.

Duh, sorry, it's a 16-inch CRT. Too many projects in the house . . . too many numbers . . not enough brains :-)

Thanks again.
