Could this be used to sub 6kv transformer

Could this be used to sub the 6kv transformer on an Electrostatic set?
Specifically I'm thinking about the Philco 50-701 with the troublesome donut transformer.

Eric,

If thet output is 6KV RVS AC, it is a bit more than you want. and 30mA is WAY more than you want.

A better choice is one of the DC-DC converter modules which run on 12 VDC in put (or something close to this) and output 5-6KVDC and a few hiundred microamps.

you can build a doubler to generate the 12VDC from the 6.3VAC filament voltage.
Chuck A. has done this, and can advise you on how itis done.
