ok. i give in. i have another hobby.
I know, Im weird, but ill collect anything thats old and electric.
about a year ago I got really interested in old radios. now im into vintage audio though. here are photos of a cathedral majestic 310a radio that I restored(mostly) but I plan to sell it(not yet, still needs caps and a tube) to buy a concept 16.5 receiver. i got it from ebay a couple of years ago for $120. I stripped it, stained it and applied a lot of tongue oil. looks good, and i have a friend who is very into old radios thats getting me news caps so i can make it work. one question--where is the best place to sell it? ebay? Ak? how should i sell? with a reserve bid? $1 NR? $500 NR? what do you think?:scratch2: also, where can I get a majestic G-55 tube? http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...77/310a001.jpg http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...77/310a002.jpg http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...77/310a003.jpg |
Wow, that is a lovely unit!
I wouldn't sell it if I were you...*_* Just to lovely. About the tube, you'll need to find a proper replacement substitute, finding a NOS majestic is nearly impossible. |
That is one nice looking radio. And you can tell you have got a lot of time in it's restoration.
If you decide to sell it - DO NOT tell my wife. That looks like one she would fall in love with. When we go to auctions, flea markets and such she always heads towards the old radios. We don't have any, she is just looking for one for that special spot she has picked out. |
Im missing the small knob on the right. If anyone has one that would look good there or is the one, PLEASE PM me. Thanks. :smoke:
