A metel cone crt taking a wack to the neck is not a good thing.
If someone buys that crt they should go and pick it up.
Put a tester on it and let it burn for at least a 1/2 hour to make sure that it has not gone to air.

Hi,New member.
Just wanted to introduce Myself.
This is a great forum.
I have found it to be very helpful.
My interest are both old radios
and early color.
This is a bad thing, takes alot of room.
I was the crazy guy who bought trailer
load of radios and 21CT55
Of course the television is the best of the lot.
The owner had replaced the 21axp22 with a rare earth
21FJp22.
I have a 21axp22 up for sale on EBAY now.
I put the 21axp22 in the 21ct to test out.
But decided to put other tube back in for now.
21FJ gives much brighter picture, better color.
But I would consider a orig. 21axp22 same age as set.
I understand the 21axp22 is same phoshors as 15gp22.
is this true?
Will look forward to any replies.

Several of us were going to tag team the trailer load of radios and the 21CT55. We could not come to a reasonable conclusion of who would get the 21CT55. :D Nice to know who actually ended up with the set. We need some pics of it. Did you get it running????

I have seen several cases of latent damage to CRTs that would still work after an apparent blow to the neck area or pins but had gone gassy after about a year. There ended up being a micro-crack in the glass that slowly damaged the vacuum...not saying that is necessarily the case here but it is something to watch out for.

Nice !!!

Let me know if you ever need to sell the set !!!

No your not, Just a collector like the rest of us.
That is really cool to see a working 21ct55 and you did a nice job on this set.
The 21axp22 is not as bright as a 21fjp22 but still shows a clear picture with deep rich color. You have a rare set and I think you should put the 21axp22 back in it. Just turn down the lights in the room when watching it.
Think someone on here did say that the 21axp22 has the same phoshors as the 15gp22, But not positive about that.

Around January 2005, Yagosaga put up some pictures showing the 21AXP22 has a more pure green than PAL receivers, but I can't find the pictures anymore.

Yagosaga, can you repost the pictures?

Here are the comparisons:

The 21AXP22A has a deeper red then the PAL receiver and a much deeper green. But be careful: not all PC screens do display the color differences, especially when they have a yellowish green or a orange-red. I can see the difference on my Dell LCD display.

If somebody here wants to make the comparison with his sets, do it with daylight. Otherwise the white point control of the digital camera will not work properly.
